Phyllis B. (Age 58) Ankle Tendinitis/Plantar Fasciitis/Foot Pain I searched for a therapy that would treat tibel tendinitis after being treated for ten years with podiatry, orthopedic, chiropractic and physical therapy. My condition deteriorated to the point of walking withy pain and constant inflammation in my leg, ankle and foot. I tried cortisone injections, ultrasound, medication, physical therapy and a brace. Dr. Kramer provided Prolotherapy to my affected areas. Improvement started after the third series of injections. I had six series of injections over a period of six months. I found Dr. Kramer to be very professional with giving injections and very caring for my health. I recommend Prolotherapy to anyone with chronic pain instead of surgery.
Alfred R. (Age 65) Back In the late fall of 2007, a CT scan of my back revealed scoliosis, stenosis, multilevel degenerative disc and facet disease, degenerative arthritis, and bulging discs. A health newsletter mentioned Prolotherapy and via the internet I found Dr. George Kramer who through interview process proved to be a very well trained (Mayo Clinic Residency) and very pleasant person with 16 years experience in Prolotherapy. Seven Prolotherapy treatments have left me basically 100% pain-free and have brought me back into the real world concentrating on something other than my own pain. I do, and have, strongly recommended Dr. Kramer to anyone with neck and back problems, muscle problems, arthritis or other structural situations causing disintermediation in life. I believe that Dr. Kramer is changing lives.
Jennifer L. (Age 44) Feet I originally came to Dr. Kramer because I had excruciating pain in my right toe that was preventing me from walking. I'd been to three podiatrists/orthopedists, each who had a different diagnosis and none of which seemed all too certain of how to treat it, which is when I began looking for alternatives and discovered Dr. Kramer and Prolotherapy. At my first appointment Dr. Kramer was able to diagnose (without x-rays) that it was likely a joint problem and not a bone problem as I had been led to believe. He asked that I not be on any pain killers for a week before the injection if I could stand it because that would improve the results of the Prolotherapy. I told him there was no way I'd make it for a week w/out painkillers. So he did the first series of injections that day and I agreed to stop painkillers that day if I could. Less than three days later I was walking with very little pain and using NO painkillers! I subsequently returned for 6 visits and the pain in my foot/leg is virtually non-existent. It makes such a wonderful difference in your life not to be in pain every single moment of every day.
Rosemary H. (Age 58) Feet I thought I’d have to quit the job I loved. I teach, and working with kids involves a lot of walking and on-my-feet time, but the pain in my right foot made every step agonizing. The podiatrist I consulted advised me that it was osteoarthritis and wanted to prescribe an anti-inflammatory drug. Since I am highly allergic to aspirin, I’m not able to take any of the standard drugs for arthritis as they are all equally hazardous to a person with an aspirin allergy. Enter Prolotherapy. I read about it in three different sources within a week of the podiatrist’s diagnosis. My husband consulted the Internet and came up with Dr. Kramer’s name. I went to him and was impressed with several things. First, he went over my x-rays and questioned me carefully, listening to my responses and probing further where I had not been clear. Then he told me that he thought Prolotherapy could help. He explained the process very thoroughly and estimated how many treatments might be needed and how far apart they would be spaced. When I said I was ready to try it, he asked if I would like him to pray with me before initiating the procedure, and I agreed. Having God help my doctor was help I was willing to have. Needles in your foot are not fun, but the procedure was quick and not nearly as painful as I had feared. I had braced myself for big-time pain but the procedure is very endurable. Dr. Kramer explained that I would have some discomfort for a day or two after the treatment, and while it was true it was not bad. Not nearly as bad as the pain in my foot had been. Thereafter I experienced immediate relief—enough relief that I was able to start walking in the park using a pedometer to count my steps. By the time I returned for my second appointment I was up to 7,000 steps a day, a figure I never expected to see. That measure climbed to 10,000 steps after the second treatment, and my pain for the most part was a thing of the past. I mention Dr. Kramer and Prolotherapy to anyone who complains of pain in my presence. To those who fear needle, I saw the needles are a lot less painful than living with whatever pain you’re currently experiencing. Unlike you bodily aches, the needles are over within a minute or two. What’s best of all is that I can keep on doing the job I love!
Lynette C. (Age 62) Feet/Bunion/Ball of Foot I was told by a podiatrist about seven years ago that I needed joint replacement surgery on the left big toe joint. I was having trouble walking because of the feeling my left arch was falling, and the ball of my foot hurt. The podiatrist ordered orthotics. I also tried other treatments such as: whirlpool, ultrasound, rest, taping, Vioxx, glucosamine and chondroitin. All with very little positive effect. Dr. Kramer provided Prolotherapy. After three treatments I can jump a little. Although I still have some pain, I can wear closed shoes. I take no pain killers ever for the problem.
Deanna M. (Age 55) Feet/Morton’s Neuroma About five years ago I began having pain in the ball of my foot. The sharp, stabbing restricted the amount of time I could walk barefoot and when I did wear shoes I was only able to wear one particular kind. I was also limited in the length of bike rides as I would start to experience more pain and numbness in my foot. After researching Prolotherapy I received treatment from Dr. Kramer. I'm happy to report that I can walk barefoot as long as I want; wear many different kinds of shoes and bike ride 20+ miles with no pain or numbness!! I highly recommend exploring Prolotherapy for chronic pain. Dr. Kramer is a gifted healer.
Denise D. (Age 32) Feet/Plantar Fasciitis I started seeing Dr. Kramer a little more than a year ago. I had considerable pain in my right foot for about three years. I had plantar fasciitis in my right foot and a lot of pain in the pad of my foot under the bit toe, and I had just developed a strain to one of the tendons to the outside of the foot. I was really having a difficult time at that point with getting around at all. My left ankle had taken so much extra strain because of my right foot that I was devastated. I had seen many, many physical therapists without a lot of results. I had a lot of x-rays and a lot of cortisone shots, which helped short-term but the pain always came back. On top of that I had a problem with my right hip that was causing me a lot of pain, and it was the same story with the therapists for my hip. It helped a little when I was there but after I left the pain came back again. It took a few sessions for the Prolotherapy to start working and in the beginning it would be better and then it would slowly go back to pain, but never to what the original pain was. Each time it got better and better. Some parts of my foot healed faster than other parts. It was really a miracle how far I have come. I would say it is at least 75% to 80% better. The bonus is that now I walk more normal without limping or walking on the side of my foot and my hip pain has decreased dramatically. It’s like a bonus. I never thought I would write a testimony because I really did not think anyone could help me. I can now do my own grocery shopping and clean my house and take short walks without being in pain. I am slowly increasing these walks as I get stronger. I thank Dr. Kramer from the bottom of my heart. He is a very caring person and I like the fact that we prayed before each session.
Vikki J. (Age 31) General Aches/Shoulders/Low Back I went to see Dr. George Kramer for aches and pains in several places that had been plaguing me for years. I was having a terrible time sleeping on my sides as my shoulders would ache so bad. I would wake up constantly and have to roll from side to side. I thought this was something I would have to live with for the rest of my life. Dr. Kramer treated me using Prolotherapy on each shoulder and now I sleep through the night, my shoulders never ache, day or night. I also had Prolotherapy on my lower back to strengthen the ligaments to help with my frequent back sprains. Dr. Kramer didn’t just treat my aches and pains. He gave me strengthening exercises to do and recommended vitamin C to help with healing as well as glucosamine for my joints. He was a kind and caring healer who treated me with respect.
George W. (Age 50) Hips I’ve had arthritis in both hips with my left hip being the worst. I’ve experienced constant soreness and pain, which forced me to curtail some athletic activities and sleep on my back and right side. I also have reduced range of motion. I’ve had the problems for the past seven years. I’d seen an orthopedic surgeon who told me my hip would need replacement. I’d taken aspirin and anti-inflammatories to stem the pain. Dr. Kramer started Prolotherapy in December 2004. I’ve had five treatments to my hip and within the first day my felt better. I have less pain and am able to walk with a more relaxed and less restrictive gait. With continued use of Prolotherapy I am hoping to continue with my athletic activities (tennis, skiing, biking, golf) and forestall surgery. I’ve already exceeded the orthopedists’ prediction of two years. I recommend Dr. Kramer and Prolotherapy to anyone facing the prospect of hip surgery.
Juanita B. (Age 74) Knees I have arthritis in both knees, so all doctors I went to gave me shots of cortisone. It wasn’t helping, so I was told I would need surgery. I didn’t care to have my knees cut open and replaced with ’whatever.’ Then I read an article on Prolotherapy and was able to find a doctor right here in town! Dr. George Kramer has worked on me since January 2004 and I don’t have any pain in my knees anymore. I’m also now doing my shopping, errands, etc; things I was unable to do before… and no surgery. There is another way.
Judi W. (Age 58) Knees I was scheduled to have a total knee replacement after a couple of years of intense pain and weakness. I tried cortisone shots and had my knee scoped twice. I decided I did not want a knee replacement as I have five small grandsons and wanted to play football, basketball, soccer and just enjoy them. My daughter’s new home also has three levels and I wanted a quality life that I could do as I chose at age 58. I decided to try Prolotherapy, got on the internet to see 'who was there' and true to my good instincts I chose Dr. Kramer. I had an appointment and Prolotherapy injection about 6-weeks before my scheduled surgery, and felt that it was helping. I had my second session, and then cancelled my surgery altogether as I knew it was working. I could now get up and down the stairs as well as walk one-mile again. After my third Prolotherapy session I could again go my normal three-mile walk as well as bike. I also had my right knee injected and after the third Prolotherapy session it also felt so much better. I would highly recommend Dr. Kramer to anyone. He is a very professional, kind, and gentle man who is very considerate. I truly appreciate the prayer before we start treatment.
Margaret S. (Age 85) Knees Two years ago I began having trouble with my right knee. It was painful, swollen and at times I could hardly walk. The x-rays showed the patella was rubbing on the bone. I had some physical therapy but it didn’t last. Since I wanted to avoid knee surgery, I went to see Dr. Kramer in July of 2004. After the first Prolotherapy treatment I felt 50% better. I had two more treatments and have been without pain ever since. I appreciated Dr. Kramer’s prayer before treatment. I would highly recommend Prolotherapy for anyone facing knee surgery.
Sue T. (Age 57) Knees As a teenager I had a skiing accident and injured my right knee, and the following year re-injured the same knee after being thrown from a horse. Over the next 30 years whenever I slipped, fell or stumbled it was always on my right knee. As I aged I began to experience more and more pain in the knee and it became more difficult to ignore. I saw a physician while in my 40’s and was informed I damaged and wore away the cartilage. I was told to “put up” with the pain as long as possible and then come back for a total knee replacement surgery. By the time I was in my 50’s I had come to accept the pain and lack of motion with the knee. I was introduced to Prolotherapy treatment by a cousin who had successful treatment for his severe knee and shoulder arthritis. My first treatment with Dr. Kramer was in 2006 and upon arriving at home one hour after treatment my leg felt “full” and “stiff”. The first 24-hours were somewhat painful and my knee was stiff but after the first few days I noticed a real difference in the pain and mobility of my knee. Over the next year I had “6” monthly treatments and after each Prolotherapy treatment session my knee got better and better. Upon realizing how good my right knee felt I recognized I had pain in my left knee too so had three Prolotherapy treatments on it. It really wasn’t until I was no longer in pain that I realized just how much the pain in my knees had some to limit my life. Dr. Kramer was extremely professional yet kind, patient and open to all my questions and concerns.
Patricia B. (Age 66) Knees/Hand Arthritis/Plantar Fasciitis/Tennis Elbow Dr. George H. Kramer saw me in October of 2003 for a variety of problems associated with degenerative joint disease and previous injuries. In the past I have used heat/cold, ibuprofen, taping, stretches, and splinting to get relief of symptoms. I contacted Dr. Kramer to discuss the use of Prolotherapy on all areas of discomfort for me. Relief from discomfort in all areas has been excellent. I have been able to dance, play tennis and golf and resume walking on a treadmill for 45 minutes to an hour daily. I would recommend this type of treatment for anyone experiencing discomfort of any kind. This is an excellent alternative to cortisone shots or surgery and seems to e more successful to me. Dr. Kramer is wonderful to work with. He is kind, personable, caring and a very spiritual person as well. I have never trusted a doctor as I trust him.
Jeanne T. (Age 42) Knees/Lower Leg I first came to Dr. Kramer for Prolotherapy treatment with arthritis in both knees and Achilles tendon inflammation that would never heal. After three Prolotherapy treatments, the Achilles tendon inflammation cleared up and has not reoccurred during the past one and one half years. The arthritis in my knees is still present, but after three Prolotherapy treatments I have been able to manage with over the counter arthritis supplements such as MSM. The stability in my knees has greatly increased, and this has allowed me to become more active. I no longer relay on NSAIDs and steroid treatments, and am now returning for additional Prolotherapy to my knees. These treatments have enabled me to continue working at sea and deterred suggested knee replacement.
Arlene S. (Age 66) Low Back If it were not for Dr. George Kramer and his medical skills in prolotherapy, I would not be walking today! Things had gotten to a point in my life where I could barely walk for 10 minutes without excruciating pain. I’ve had two back surgeries in the L4-5 regions from ruptured disc problems and ended up with a numb left leg, necessitating my using a walker for several months. The physical therapy sessions that had been ordered by the low back surgeon did not seem to relieve certain pains in my back and left hip. After a few failed attempts to get relief a friend told me about prolotherapy and Dr. George Kramer. I couldn’t believe it as after the first treatment the next day I could walk without pain whereas previously I suffered a decade and a half or more of varying degrees of pain. Since I began treatment a few years ago, I gradually became better and better and the weak muscles in my left hip are strengthening. I now can walk easily around the house without painful limping, but still need a cane temporarily as a “prop” for walking in the malls or walking around lakes. You can’t imagine my happiness now because back in 2004 I had “visions” of being in a wheelchair for the rest of my life and now I am walking pain-free and again living an active life thanks to prolotherapy.
Jean B. (Age 38) Low Back Last summer I injured my lower back, and was fortunate enough to find Dr. Kramer working at the Marsh health club in Minnetonka. He checked me over, and quickly diagnosed an injured disc. So he set me up with several different physical therapy programs to see which would work the best. I was disappointed; however, that Dr. Kramer was not covered by my insurance, so I had to stop seeing him. The amazing thing about Dr, Kramer was that he continued to be interested in my progress. In fact, several months later, he called me at home to ask how I was doing! Not many doctors would go that far. Dr. Kramer seems to care about his patients (even the former ones!), and is quick to return calls, and even emails!
Jennifer L. (Age 44) Low Back After learning my husband and I were expecting our third child the pregnancy had caused me much pain in the Sacroiliac areas of my back. Since I had already had successful Prolotherapy treatments on my foot and Prolotherapy is safe during pregnancy, I had injections on both the left and right sides of my back. It changed the pregnancy from one that would have been miserable to one that was enjoyable. I am ever grateful to Dr. Kramer for his practice and his Prolotherapy and his wealth of knowledge.
Patricia H. (Age 43) Low Back I’ve been suffering with low back and non-specific leg pain for over five years. Sitting has been very problematic, limiting my ability to be in a car, go to movies, concerts and the theatre. I’ve been a hatha yoga student for many years and the pain has been restricting many postures. I’d ready an article in the ‘Twin Cities wellness’ publication submitted by Dr. Kramer regarding chronic pain and felt it was worth looking into. He suggested Prolotherapy to tighten and heal the ligaments. To date, I’ve had five sessions of Prolotherapy injections in my low back and have seen an 85% improvement. I can once again sit and engage in activities I enjoy. I experienced less pain and was encouraged to maintain my physical activities.
Peter C. (Age 49) Low Back After spending years going to a Chiropractor I finally came across Dr. Kramer’s practice via a Google search. Being a sports official my need to run pain free is very important. The countless adjustments given by my FORMER Chiropractor never seemed to work. After reading about Phototherapy I decided it was definitely worth the try. From 24 hours after my first treatment the pain that was once a constant in my life went away. After 60 days I was able to lightly jog without any pain at all. Following Dr. Kramer’s suggestions for rehab, my time and distance greatly improved. Last basketball season was very difficult to endure. So far this year I have worked a number of Colligate games with no discomfort. Dr. Kramer’s treatments have enabled me to once again enjoy officiating the game of Basketball. I strongly suggest that anyone who suffers from low back pain in the sciatic area to explore the options Phototherapy has to offer. Last summer I was able to do a 30 mile backpacking trip with my Daughter, with out Dr. Kramer’s help that would not have happened.
Angie H. (Age 32) Low Back/ Hip I was having twinges in my outer hips and lower back. After working with Dr. Kramer and receiving prolotherapy, I was back in a matter of weeks and finished my first full triathlon. It's been 4 years and I'm running more than ever.
Roxanne L. (Age 51) Low Back/ Knees When I first went to see Dr. Kramer my left knee was swollen with crepitus and I was in pain walking up and down stairs. I had been doing the leg exercise given to me in physical therapy for over a year, had a cortisone injection, and had been told that I would ultimately need a knee replacement. I have also suffered from a degenerative disc in my lower back for almost 30 years. After three Prolotherapy treatments the stiffness in my lower back and the swelling in my knee were gone. Three more injections have reduced my knee pain by 90%. I don’t run anymore but I can swim, walk, work out on the elliptical, treadmill and rowing machine and, best of all, I continue to play tennis. Dr Kramer is a kind and caring physician and I highly recommend him and Prolotherapy to everyone. It is a great comfort to know there is an alternative to surgery to help maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.
Barbara G. (Age 53) Mid Back/Low Back/Shoulders In three separate incidents I have sustained injuries to both my shoulders and to my mid back. These injuries occurred between 10 and 15 years ago, causing a lot of pain and never seeming to get much better. I would think that I was improving, then I would have a setback and be right back where I started. This happened time and time again, and I have found myself getting increasingly depressed as I had to give up first one activity that I loved, then another. Worst of all, I was becoming less helpful to my family and generally leading a much less productive life than before. My inability to lead an active life was causing other things to go wrong in my body, particularly weakness and pain in my lower back even though I tried to stay as fit as I could with stretching and mild exercises. I had seen my doctor about these things, and all he could offer were drugs to ease my pain, to help with sleep and to deal with my depression. I had also seen a chiropractor, which did give me some temporary relief. I did not want to have surgery. I was simply getting worse. I had heard about Prolotherapy a number of years ago and had been thinking about it, but I had not pursued the idea for various reasons. Then about nine months ago I read about it in the Mayo Clinic Health Letter in which they were discussing alternative medicine. Prolotherapy was one of the alternatives that they said did work. That was it. I wasn’t going to just think about it any longer. I found Dr. George Kramer of Advanced Medicine Alternatives and that was the beginning of my recovery. Now after six months of Prolotherapy I have been able to reduce my pain medication to practically nothing. I am doing more of the things I used to do and am generally a more productive and upbeat person. I expect I will continue to improve. Dr. Kramer is experienced and skilled and he listens to his patients and acts on what they tell him. He is kind and easy to talk to. I am very grateful to him and to God for this healing that is taking place. Needless to say, if you are suffering from pain like I was then I would definitely recommend seeing Dr. Kramer for an evaluation to see if you are a candidate for Prolotherapy. This is a non-invasive, simple (for the patient) and quick procedure. The little bit of discomfort associated with it is nothing compared to what you have been going though, maybe for years. It is most definitely worth it.
Kevin L. (Age 35) Neck/Elbow I have had Barre-Lieou Syndrome symptoms since February 1989 due to an upper spinal cervical injury. After having been seen by several neurologists, Dr. Kramer was the first MD to accurately give a viable explanation. I did a series of Prolotherapy injections, which helped provide stability by strengthening the spinal ligaments, thus lessening the Syndrome symptoms. In the middle of the series we did a couple injections into my right elbow. Playing softball during the mid 80’s I had injured my right elbow throwing too hard. I was never able to do weight lifting such as curling with more than 10 or 15 pounds as it always exacerbated the pain in my elbow. Just one set of these injections decreased the pain in my elbow over 50%...I’m now able to do moderate-weighted curls with little to no pain. I would definitely recommend working with Dr. Kramer while entrusting his professional opinion on the course of action to pursue. He prescribes proper modalities, drug prescriptions when needed, and personal encouragement.
Cathy B. (Age 36) Neck/Upper Back/Low Back/Scoliosis I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 14 years old. Each year my back and neck pain seemed to get worse. I would go from one injury to another because I refused to change my activities. Since the western medicine system wouldn’t or couldn’t help me, I decided to try any alternatives that wouldn’t make things worse. I have tried many things such as: massage therapy, physical therapy, ultrasound, steroid injections, exercises, crystal energy work, heated stones, Chakra clearing, spiritual healing, meditation, Hands on Healing and Reiki. All have had a positive impact on me, but nothing has helped with the pain. Since I started Prolotherapy treatments, there are many things that I have done that I wouldn’t have considered doing, such as: take a vacation on an airplane, swim and boogie board in the ocean, swim with dolphins and drive in a car for 8 hours or more. Working with Dr. Kramer is wonderful. Before we start any session, we pray. This is at my request and Dr. Kramer prays with me and for me before we start any injections. He is a compassionate man that truly cares about his patients. He will not lie to you; he has told me that Prolotherapy will not correct my more serious problems, but it might help with the level or intensity of pain. Prolotherapy is a therapy that has worked for me, and I am grateful that it is available.
John R.(Age 32) Shoulder In October of 2002 I twisted my shoulder in an incident. I went to the hospital and was given some medication to alleviate the swelling and was advised to limit my use beyond stretching for a period of time. After a couple of months, my shoulder still wasn’t feeling one hundred percent, so I sought out the opinion of a surgeon. After an MRI, I was told there was, again, nothing wrong with my shoulder. At this point, I had had enough and spent several hours researching shoulder injuries on the Internet. Eventually I located a website presenting Prolotherapy treatment. I was most attracted to the procedure because it did not involve any medication. Immediately after the injection, although stiff, my shoulder did not have the usual pain. Within a few days, the stiffness went away, and slowly but surely, my shoulder improved from where it was prior to the treatment. I would certainly recommend the procedure to others who have tissue or joint injuries that don’t seem to respond to any other form of treatment or who may want to try this as an alternative to surgical procedures.
Michelle C. (Age 24) Shoulders/Neck/Back You treated my shoulders, neck, and back at Beaulahland and asked that I e-mail and let you know how I’m doing. I’m the one with the Hypermobility Syndrome. The first week was amazing
William F. (Age 74) Thigh/Hamstring I have been a competitive track and distance running for many years, part of that time at a national class level. I have experienced hamstring problems during my years of running, however the last experience was one that I could not seem to get over. I sought treatment from a chiropractor with no positive result in this case. I then saw an orthopedist who said I had a chronic hamstring strain and advised me to see physical therapy, which I did. After four sessions with little or no positive results I did proceed with various stretching exercises that were given to me as part of the physical therapy treatments. I do believe that those particular stretching exercises made my injury worse, they were not correct exercises for my problem. A friend, who is in the health and wellness business suggested I might see Dr. Kramer. After doing some computer investigative work on Prolotherapy I decided to see Dr. Kramer. He gave me a detailed examination, both physical and verbal, and it was decided that I should undergo Prolotherapy treatments. I had several treatments as my injury was fairly severe. After not being able to run for a matter of months I soon was back running per Dr. Kramer’s instructions as to how to proceed. It was not long after my last treatment that I once again could enjoy my running with a full range of leg motion. Dr. Kramer gave me two stretching exercises that he said would keep the problem hamstring supple and not so prone to further injury, he was correct. I have been hamstring-problem-free for a matter of months since my visits, and although my treatment was different than anything I’d had before it worked. Once I had an understanding of Prolotherapy my decision was made very easy and I have had no regret that I took these painless treatments.
Barbara A. (Age 58) Thoracic Spine Dr. Kramer demonstrated to me his thoroughness when I was referred to him as a possible candidate for Prolotherapy. My past diagnosis was degenerative disk disease. Dr. Kramer’s competence has been shown by the way he asks questions and gets to the underlying problem, his knowledge of medicine and alternative methods, and his ability to treat what needs to be treated. He cares about what he is doing as a doctor and he cares about the emotional experiences people with chronic pain suffer. Dr. Kramer keeps this body going physically, mentally and spiritually.
Roxanne R. (Age 50) Thumb I've been wanting to send a testimonial since last summer!! I am 50 and have arthritis in my right thumb and had physical therapy for it that only did so much. I saw an orthopedic surgeon. He gave me anti-inflammatory medication. That didn't help much. He said surgery was my next option. My physical therapist recommended Dr Kramer. I am so amazed how much better my thumb felt after just 3 sets of injections!! It has been over six months and I have occasional discomfort. I am a Daycare provider so my hands get a work out every day. I would highly recommend Prolotherapy to anyone with chronic pain!!!!! I am trying to get my husband to go see him because he also has arthritis in his thumb. I will definitely go back for more therapy when my other problem area get worse!!!
Gary T. (Age 53) Trigger Thumb I was diagnosed with trigger thumb in both of my thumbs. I received cortisone injections into my thumbs only giving me temporary relief. I then had surgery on my left thumb in February 2004 and it was successful. In April 2004 the snapping and locking symptoms returned to my right thumb. After a consultation with Dr. Kramer, I decided to receive Prolotherapy injections in my right thumb. Within a week my thumb was feeling better and the snapping and locking symptoms were near gone. A second injection was needed and now 6-months later my thumb is totally free of any previous symptoms. After having surgery and Prolotherapy injections, I can say that my right thumb, which received the Prolotherapy injections has more movement than my left thumb, which had surgery on it due to the lack of scar tissue. I really do recommend checking out alternatives before surgery. Dr. Kramer and his staff are truly great caregivers than get results.
Gordy K. (Age 54) Shoulder I am a professional musician who makes his living playing drums for a major rock and roll band. About a year ago I was diagnosed with arthritis of the shoulder. At first the pain was manageable with Advil, but as time progressed it increased to the point it was affecting my performance. I saw an orthopedic physician who gave me a cortisone injection and recommended physical therapy. The shot helped for about three weeks but the pain returned with a vengeance. My physical therapi9st suggested I check out prolotherapy with Dr. Kramer. After three treatments I was noticing significant improvement. After the fifth treatment my pain was completely gone (and is still gone)! Prolotherapy saved my career!
Butch S. (Age 51) Hips If you have ever broken a bone or been injured at some time in your life, I can tell you about the experience of having an injury heal just as fast as getting injured. January 2008 I contacted Dr. Kramer as a final resource to see if he could help me before I went in for what I thought would be hip replacement surgery. I injured my hip in June 1999 while playing softball. My pain was so great that I had trouble sleeping. Every time I would get up from a sitting position I wondered whether my first step would leave me face first on the floor or in an upright position. Dr. Kramer’s first treatment left me with an unusual experience. I was pain-free and thought he had me healed the minute I walked out the door. This unfortunately was a big mistake on my part as I did not listen too well to Dr. Kramer and let it heal as any injury needs to heal like he had told me to do. I went home thinking I could do everything again and re-injured it two days later. I went back in for the second treatment, as he told me I would need to do when I first went in, but this time I gave it time to heal. I tried not to get as excited about the new pain-free life the second time around and let it heal first. This time it worked much better. I also was trained by Reagan Kramer (Dr. Kramer’s wife) for some physical therapy exercises. She helped me rebalance and strengthen my body as I had obviously overcompensated for 10 years of pain in my hip. This was a huge help and still is today! I also had prolotherapy treatments administered on my shoulder, neck and lower back, all of which helped me be able to do things that I could not do for almost 10 years. The biggest test came in November of 2008 when I was able to scrimmage against the boy’s high school basketball team that I coach. I did not have any pain in my hip the next day or the following three months of the season to this point, which is a great feeling! Thank you George and Reagan Kramer for the renewed feeling of pain-free walking and the more positive attitude I was able to get back because of less pain in my body.
Lulu P. (Age 28) TMJ I went to Dr Kramer for TMJ. It was giving me headache and difficulty chewing for a month. My general practitioner told me that there where three options 1) a bite plate 2) surgery and 3) do nothing at all. She herself has TMJ and she chose option three because research shows that option one and two did not work very well. A friend of mine recommended that I see Dr Kramer as he had fixed a severe case of TMJ for someone in his neighborhood. After the first prolotherapy shot, my jaw was inflamed, but it got better almost instantly. I could chew very well although when I yawned I could still hear it clicking. The headache was completely gone. After the second treatment I could feel my jaw was not sliding around anymore. After the third and final treatment I have regained full use of my jaw with no pain whatsoever. Sometimes when I open my mouth too wide I can feel my jaw sliding back into place, but have regained full use of my jaw. I'm glad that I heard about Dr. Kramer, especially after being told by my general practitioner that there was nothing anyone can do about my TMJ.
Joseph L. (Age 75) Thumb After more than five decades of performing as a clarinetist in opera and symphony orchastras, I began experiencing severe pain in both thumbs and wrists. This was probably due to a combination of wear and degenerative arthritis. The severity of the problem was so that it was very difficult to perform let alone use a pen, button a shirt or even pick up a glass. I had tried cortisone injections with good results the first time, but subsequent cortisone injections over three years failed to help. A physical therapist recommended Dr. Kramer and prolotherapy. Thanks to five treatments of prolotherapy in five-months I have regained the ability to perform pain-free! I strongly recommend Dr. Kramer not only for his skill, but for his approach to the art of healing.

David M. (Age 57) Knees/Lower Leg Seven years ago I had a total knee replacement. I developed chronic pain three months later and was referred to a pain clinic. Six and a half years of fruitless treatment at the pain clinic, including implantation of a neurostimulator and three outpatient procedures to “fix” the neurostimulator, I was left wondering if I was ever going to be able to lead a normal life again. My original knee replacement came loose and a new orthopedic surgeon performed a second total knee replacement. The procedure was successful but did not stop the chronic pain. My surgeon and I were discussing forwarding my records to the Mayo Clinic, which had previously rejected my case five years earlier. We were discussing alternative treatments when he mentioned Prolotherapy and referred me to a local physician. At that point I searched the intranet and found the best Prolotherapy specialist in Minnesota, Dr. George Kramer. After a thorough history and examination Dr. Kramer determined that Neural therapy was the best procedure for me. After the first procedure I didn’t notice any change in my chronic pain. My second procedure was scheduled two weeks after the first and about the third or fourth day after the initial treatment I began to notice a small but significant reduction in the pain. Five weeks and four treatments later my chronic pain was virtually gone. I thank God I was able to find the path to Dr. Kramer and that Neural therapy helped me escape from the chronic pain “prison” I had been in for almost seven years! Dr. Kramer told me he was just an instrument in the healing process, but he is so much more than that.
Robert T. (Age 79) Shoulder I have been struggling with rotator cuff pain in my right shoulder for several years due to a severe ski injury. I was unable to do upper body workouts and it severely affected my tennis game. After prolotherapy I am now able to do pushups for the first time in years and am playing in tennis tournaments in my age group. I owe it all to prolotherapy treatments!
Nancy H. (Age 78) Golfer's Elbow I had “golfer’s elbow” for about four years. As a result of the pain and discomfort I had three cortisone injections, each about a year apart. These initially gave me relief, but slowly the pain returned accompanied by loss of muscle tone. I could no long move my arm comfortably. My doctor recommended Dr. Kramer as he had successful prolotherapy from him on his knees. Dr. Kramer was most knowledgeable about my problem. I had six injections, each about 3 – 4 weeks apart. It took about two injections before I got sustained relief and since then I am able to get on with life. I have recommended Dr. Kramer and prolotherapy to many friends and family!
Judith S. (Age 49) Thumb My bilateral thumb joints have given me much pain over the years. I began going to a very large, well known, reputable medical facility, where my health insurance covered. The x-rays showed actual dents in my bones, which they called degenerative arthritis. I over-used and continue to use my hands and thumbs greatly on my job. Although altering my work habits did help, the constant pain was still too great. I was recommended to have cortisone shots, but refused knowing that the shots would further deteriorate my joints. I was given hot/cold water baths, and prescribed custom thumb braces that I still wear to work daily. When I could no longer bear the pain the final step would be joint replacement, but with the type of work I do the joints would wear out every 10 years. This meant at least three replacements throughout the rest of my lifetime. Being a holistic person, plastic and metal in my body is something I wished to avoid so I decided to wait as long as possible. After about three months the pain was too great. I had read an article about prolotherapy and went online to research it further as well as locate a doctor in my area. Even though my insurance has not paid for any treatments it has been worth it. I started out getting treatments every other month for a year. Since then, I visit Dr. Kramer about twice a year. I believe that the cartilage has grown back within the first few treatments. The intense shooting pain that occurred when the bones collided stopped within the first two treatments. The swelling around my joints decreased so much that the continuous aching from the swelling went away. I would recommend prolotherapy for anyone with injured, swollen or degenerative joints. Go for a visit before your joints are unbearable and you’ll heal in fewer treatments.
Lori B. (Age 54) Migraines I have struggled with frequent and increasing migraine headaches for many years. These headaches would go on for days at a time. I had tried a multitude of traditional treatments and therapies including chiropractic, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, physical therapy, medication, yoga, exercise, weekly massage, healing touch, craniosacral therapy, allergy treatments, herb lifestyle changes, meditation, prayer and more. They all have helped to varying degrees, but still the migraines continued. I was amazed that the first prolotherapy treatment provided relief and I have been able to cut down on both the preventative and acute migraine medications. The big knots in my neck and shoulders are gone! I have had five treatments and now rarely have a migraine. Prolotherapy has been a miracle treatment for me. I would highly recommend prolotherapy to any migraine sufferer who wants to really end the migraine cycle and start enjoying life again. Dr. Kramer is a very kind and compassionate doctor who is gentle in his approach. He is a good listener. He has a holistic body, mind, and spirit, and looks for ways for you to help your body heal itself.
Nancy K. (Age 59) Shoulder In 2000 I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in my right shoulder. I had some cortisone injections and some physical therapy. As the years went by my shoulder became very painful. In 2008 my orthopedic surgeon took x-rays and I had an MRI and he suggested a total shoulder replacement should be done in the future and that I should come back in May 2010. I started to do some research on the Internet in 2009 and found Dr. George Kramer with Advanced Medicine Alternatives. I made an appointment and have had about “6” prolotherapy treatments. Dr. Kramer gave me some exercises to do at home and increased my dosage of Vitamin C, Glucosamine, MSM, Fish Oil and CoQ10. Today, I’m 75% better, no longer have the pain, and am sleeping better. I also am able to do simple household things such as vacuuming, which used to hurt. Dr. Kramer is a very kind and gentle, and cares about his patients. I really like that we pray before the injections. I look forward to improving with more treatments and hope to never have shoulder replacement surgery. Prolotherapy treatment has given me a new lease on life because I feel less pain. Prolotherapy has worked for me and I am grateful for Dr. Kramer to make this possible and improve my quality of my life!
Deb L. (Age 49) Elbow and Shoulder I first came to Dr. Kramer for Prolotherapy on my elbow. I had tennis elbow pain for “14” years and had tried physical therapy but nothing took the pain away. I had “6” Prolotherapy treatments and the pain in my elbow was gone. I also suffered from minor shoulder pain and after Dr. Kramer performed “3” Prolotherapy treatments the pain was gone.
Christine R. (Age 42) Gluteal I fell in January 2008. Almost two years later I was still in a great deal of back and gluteal pain. Despite two years of physical therapy, chiropractic and personal trainer work, exercises, massage therapy and so on the depression and desperation were consuming my life. My physical therapist recommended Dr. Kramer and Prolotherapy. After researching Prolotherapy and speaking with his assistant I was hopeful. I went in for a consultation and that same day received injections. To date, I believe I am 90% better. I no longer have pain everyday and am starting to get back into running. I even took up tennis! Dr. Kramer is thorough and really listened to my complaints. It was not a “cookie-cutter” plan of care and I am thankful.
Christa B. (Age 18) Shoulder I am a USA level 10 gymnast. As such, my joints and ligaments must withstand incredible pounding and strain. When I dislocated my shoulder the future of my gymnastics was in jeopardy. After the injury my shoulder was loose and unstable. It would “pop-out” on particular moves including back hand springs on beam, my twisting dismount off the uneven bars and Jaeger-to-shoot (my most difficult and most dangerous skill) off bars. The final straw was when twisting skills on the floor became impossible for me to do. After one particular incident when my shoulder “popped out” I could not lift my arm the following day. My father is a chiropractor and he suggested we try Prolotherapy. We contacted Dr. Kramer and after eight treatments over eight months my shoulder has fully recovered. Despite my injuries, I was the 2009 State Beam Champion and advanced to Regions, and then qualified for Junior Olympic Nationals. In 2010 I took first place on uneven bars at the Peppermint Twist Invite, first place at the San Diego Invite, and second place at the Tampa Bay Invite. Thanks to Dr. Kramer I am currently looking forward to participating in college gymnastics!
Dave S. (Age 61) Low Back/ Hip I first met with Dr. Kramer in May of 2009. I was having considerable discomfort with what I thought was arthritis in my hips. In order to reduce the discomfort, I was consuming between 800 mg and 1000 mg of ibuprofen daily. Over a period of six months Dr. Kramer was able to isolate the cause of the pain and stiffness to a low vertebra. The pain was radiating from that area out along my iliac crest, which I thought was my hips. Through the use of Prolotherapy and suggested exercises Dr. Kramer was able to help me reduce the discomfort. He also recommended a regimen of vitamins and supplements to help with my overall health. The stiffness does continue from time to time, however I no longer feel the need to take any ibuprofen for the discomfort. I recommend Dr. Kramer for help with joint and pain issues.
